Brains has launched the Skills Hub and Creative Kitchen (SHACK), a new programme to develop chef talent and create career pathways within the business, as well as the food industry in Wales.
This is a move to address the shortages of chefs in the hospitality industry.
SHACK will develop the skills and knowledge of existing Brains chefs, as well as offer new chefs a chance to get a start in the world of food. The SHACK will include training on food-specific creations, equipment trials, menu launch training and essential kitchen techniques.
SHACK will also play a key role in menu development to make sure the food offering at Brains pubs continually evolves. This programme involves a 24-week process of category management, market research, recipe building and capacity management all rolled into an ongoing annual change plan.
