The 2015 KP of the Year Competition is now open for entries. The competition is organised by The Caterer in partnership with Winterhalter and is now in its third year.
The prize includes £1000 cash and a celebratory meal for the winner and their friends and family in a casual dining restaurant of their choice. £8000 worth of Winterhalter’s warewash products will also be given to the winner’s place of work.
Judges are looking for entries that show a high level of kitchen knowledge and demonstrate the vital role they play as part of the kitchen brigade. Most importantly they are looking for someone who is passionate about the industry and can act as a role model for other kitchen porters in the UK.
Stephen Kinkead, managing director, of Winterhalter, said: “We launched this competition in 2013 and have been delighted with the response from restaurants, pubs, schools and hotels across the country, but last year was phenomenal. We had more than a 100 entries from businesses across all sectors.
The deadline for entries is the 9 August 2015 and applicants will be judged by a panel of industry experts, with the winner announced in September.
